Sunday, March 8, 2015 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE TORONTO, ON – The AsHL has announced rosters for the 2015 AsHL All-Star Classic slated for next weekend in Seattle, WA between Team Seattle and Team Chilliwack. The result of a draft held last week between veteran Vancouver Canucks GM Mike Henderson and the Carolina Hurricanes brain-trust led by GM Ron Jones, the two teams will square off next weekend in a showcase of the AsHL’s top talent. As Calder Cup Champions in 2014, the Seattle Thunderbirds are event hosts this year in the 6,500 seat capacity ShoWare Center. Thunderbirds Head Coach Mike Yeo named his leadership group over the weekend, one that will see Oakland Seals forward Beau Bennett wearing the ‘C’ along with assistants in Anaheim Ducks farmhand Matt Beleskey and up and coming blueliner Seth Jones of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Across the ice for Chilliwack, Benoit Groulx has named veteran forward and AsHL leading scorer T.J. Hensick as his captain. Chilliwack forward Matt Halischuk will wear an ‘A’ along with Philadelphia Flyers prospect Sean Monahan. All 30 AsHL clubs will be represented next weekend when the puck drops on the 2015 AsHL All-Star Classic.
