Chicago, Il. – Chicago missed trade deadline day for a reason. It is still uncertain on its place in NsHL. Currently the team sits 3 spots from the bottom; however, they are still 5 points back of the 8th seed. This means that there are about 4 teams in front of Chicago that are tied or better then Chicago. So, Chicago has decided to send a couple of their high valued youth to boost Manitoba’s lines.
Right now Manitoba sits in a playoff spot. But, with recent events the team has been struggling. “We decided to play our back-up a few games. We did it because we had a stronger grip on a playoff spot. As predicted we lost a couple games. This is all part of the plan…as odd as that sounds. Now with only 11 games remaining for the Moose, we have sent down Jacob Josefson and T.J. Galiardi in hopes of sparking the offense to score so the defense could then win the game for us. Chicago right now is in a rough spot and is still uncertain if they can manage to make a playoff push,” says GM Brian Decker.
T.J. Galiardi came from PEI, one of the highest scoring teams in the AsHL. Also, which is the same place GM Brian Decker came from. “I will be ok going down to the Moose. I have played most of my season down in the farm team system at PEI, where, then, AGM Decker, has managed the club. It does suck a little going from the pro team to the farm team, but I get it, I am at the age in my life where they can do this, since I am good, I can help,” quoted from T.J. Galiardi.
Best case scenario for pro and farm team is they both make the playoffs, worst case is neither of them make the playoffs. Worst case scenario is not an option. At least one of the teams will make the playoffs; a close source to both teams has said so. All GM Brian Decker needs to do is get that consistency back for both teams that saw them play fantastic under the new system. Only time will tell.
