Toronto, ON - The Toronto Marlies lost a valuable veteran at the trade deadline. The club currently sits in second place in the conference, and lost versatile forward Toby Peterson to first place Chilliwack Bruins in a deal to bolster the big club.
"We added Jessiman a few weeks back, and now we have lost a veteran," said coach Jim Schoenfeld. "It is part of the business and we will deal with it."
After a strong winning streak the club has lost three in a row and has surprisingly turned the goaltending duties over to Alex Stalock for the time being.
"Alex has bided his time in the ECsHL and earned a call up. We are in good shape and will give him a couple of starts to give Eddie and Ben a bit of a breather before gearing up for the playoffs. They have been excellent and we have the luxury of having an outstanding third goalie right now," summed up the coach.
The Marlies got a bit younger with the departure of Peterson and will turn to Levi Nelson and Peter Leblanc to fill his roster spot.
"I'm excited to get this opportunity," said Leblanc, who is expected to take his turn in their next game.

There is no getting by PEI again this year. I moved 2 top players up to the pros and I am still rolling. Now when I get eliminated from the playoffs that will be a different story.

I would need to get all the way to the finals to worry about you, sir... and after being bounced in the first round each of the past 3 years that would be some pretty serious improvement for the Marlies!
