Louisville, KY.- Ahead of a scheduled visit to take place next weekend in Louisville, Kentucky, Owner/President/GM Mark Kopsack fired Louisville Thunder head coach Kurt Kleinendorst today after a 4-3 loss inside the ThunderDome. "I've simply had enough of mediocrity," said a very sweaty, irritated Kopsack. Kopsack's office apparently is having air conditioning issues which, we are sure, only added to the irritation of another loss.
With a lineup that includes Nazem Kadri, Kyle Palmieri, Luke Adam, Richard Panik, Eric Tangradi, Louis Leblanc, Luca Sbisa, Bruno Gervais, as well as veteran netminder Anton Khudobin, the Thunder had extremely high expectations this year. "We should have a burgeoning-gull-darn-dynasty on our hands and instead, the team wallows 7 points out of a playoff spot approaching the half way point. (Spikes down a pile of paperwork). This is totally unacceptable," Kopsack angrily spouted off. "I've looked around the league and there isn't a team out there that should be able to skate with the level of talent we put out there every night, however, it simply is not the case. I find the coaching staff guilty and we will move forward in an entirely different direction from this point on," Kopsack said. "Missing the playoffs is NOT an option for this team," Kopsack confirmed.
Terms of the deal for new head coach John Anderson were not disclosed.
