The Capitals are also in the same boat. I am willing to pay cash for an NHL re-rate. I would like the Commissioner's opinion on this and see if it's feasible.

And Tony, I already had approached you about this and you and I both agreed that we didn't think Nathan would allow this to happen. If he is good with it, then so be it, I am willing to pay up for an NHL re-rate.

More specifically, Tony, just because you're selling something doesn't mean that's ok either. Longt story short...Spencer is now officially Tony's John. lol

don't think this will happen, two years ago the league said re-rates could not be traded or sold

I too disagree with the selling of re-rates. If you have too many players that qualify as a re-rate, then trade them away to better your team.

HOLY SHOOT, this is not what i meant at all!!!!!!!!!! I am looking to make a deal with someone who has too many rerates on their team. I want to acquire that extra player. I have only 1 NHL rerate currently on my team. I dont know why people are thinking im trading to illegally trade rerates or something. I WANT TO ACTUALLY acquire a player that needs a NHL rerate, i will not trade that player back to that team, i dont need someone to rerate one of my players and then get him back. I want to put the player that a team has that needs a rerate on my team.
I dont know where this got messed up, but i am only trying to acquire a player for my team, nothing sinister.
For Example if the Blue Jackets have Player A Player B Player C
and all three had a 100 points in the NHL this year but the Blue Jackets only have 2 rerates, i want to make a trade to acquire the player not getting the rerate and then use my open rerate on him and play him on my team, nothing else.
How did everyone read this different. Spencer is trying to do shady poop not me.

Tony, that is what i thought you were getting at all along and of course that is something that is totally ok .. encouraged even.
Take a look at Carolina and Chilliwack and see if anything fits. Obviously I am re-rating Seguin and Pietrangelo, but there are likely a few other candidates.
contact me at mrshark AT shaw.ca or ICQ

That's what I got from it. That Tony was looking for a NHL reratable player not an actual rerate.

We all knew what Tony was talking about, it was just Spenny, as usual, looking to exploit the system to gain an unfair advantage.

It was a misunderstanding. I didn't think it was feasible, however, I am always looking for a comparative advantage. Look it up, Jack. You probably have never heard of the word before, and better yet, you probably don't know the difference between a comparative and absolute advantage.
Do me a favour this year, put your money this season where your mouth is. Win a couple playoff rounds. In fact, let's bet $1,000,000 to the organization that finishes higher this season. Let me know if you are in. And if you're not, keep your eyes of my team.

Rerates and PDPs are not tradeable commodities nor are they available for purchase with cash. Ever.
Clear enough?
For the record, I read it exactly the way Tony explained it. He is looking to acquire a reratable player because he only has one currently. Nothing wrong with that, whatsoever.
