Chilliwack, BC - Neither the Carolina Hurricanes or the Chilliwack Bruins have made the playoffs under the leadership of GM and President Ron Jones .. that is until this season.
The Bruins not made the playoffs but won the Macgregor Kilpatrick Trophy (awarded annually to the winner of the AsHL regular season. The team will be facing the Wilkes Barre-Scranton Pens in the first round. The Pens are led by a top line of RW Jack Skille (33-37-70, 72gp), LW Kyle Clifford (15-18-33, 56gp) and centered by Maxime Lapierre (22-35-57, 59gp).
Wilkes Barre-Scranton actually outscored the Bruins (most of the playoff teams did), but where Chilliwack dominated is defensively. They gave up 73 fewer goals than the Pens.
The teams met twice in the regular season with both teams winning by identical scores of 3-1.
It will be interesting to see which goalie gets the nod for the Bruins in game one as both their goalies were outstanding and played nearly the same amount of games.
Whether it is Robin Lehner or Leland Irving it is fairly certain that coach Don Hay won't be hesitant to make a goalie change if one is needed.

I do believe it will be the Jacksonville Jokers you play, as they win the tie-breaker with more wins.

Congrats on finally getting into the playoffs and an excellent AsHL season Ron... your team certainly got the job done with authority. Good luck in the playoffs... until we meet in the second round [yeah, Roger, I know I know...] ;P
