Oakland, Ca.-- The Oakland Seals have brought a championship back to the Bay Area in fine fashion Monday night as they finished off the Jacksonville Jokers 4-3 in OT to win the series 4 games to 1. In a joyous locker room, team captain Jason Krog said, "This is just awesome. This is something we've worked real hard for all year long. We knew we had the makings of a great team and I give our GM, Nathan Kopsack, all the credit. He is just such a smart hockey guy and put this team on the right path to victory. This is a class organization. We could not have done it without Mr. Kopsack's sheer hockey brilliance and man, on top of it all...he is just plain stunning to look at"...and then quickly replied, "no, I'm not like that." continued Krog. "But this is a championship for our fans and for most of us that have been together all year long. This team is special and this is a great moment for us all."
'In all seriousness, I am extremely happy to finally WIN SOMETHING in our ULTRA competitive league(s). I thought I had a pretty good mix of youth and vets and it proved to be enough.
I want to tip my cap to Mike McComish. I'm sure he would want a better outcome but he had a very nice team and deserved to win it as well. I'm going to cherish my 1st piece of hardware in this great league we have.' -Nathan Kopsack.
