I'm sure a lot of you know about this, but apparently today the IIHF decided to give the go ahead to a "World Cup" for the junior club champions from Canada, USA, Russia, Sweden, Finland, Czech Republic Germany and Switzerland. Pretty interesting if true. Russian project presented controlling director [MKHL] Dmitriy [Efimov]. Specifically, our league came out by the initiator of conducting this tournament, in which will take part the youth club command- conquerors of national championships from Russia, USA, Canada, Sweden, Finland, the Czech Republic, Germany and Switzerland. “We are very glad, that the first in the history youth World Cup will be played in Omsk. The support of initiative [MKHL] from the side [IIKHF] testifies about the large confidence to our country, our league. I promise, that the Omsk tournament will become the authentic holiday of world youth hockey”, stated Dmitriy [Efimov] at the end of council session [IIKHF]. I haven't seen anything official from the IIHF yet, but this could be an interesting idea. We'll have to see the details of things...stay tuned!!!

I think this would have much more interest in Europe .. I really don't see this being do-able in Canada or the US. However, if money were there that could change minds.

I agree with you there Ron. I think this would be much more interesting to the Europeans than the North Americans. We'll see what comes of it though.
