The assistant GM of the Regina Rebels attended his first practice since being hired by the Avalanche a week ago. Hickerson had this to say about the previous week, "It was a very exciting week, the Avalanche organization really made me feel right at home here. The other twenty-nince GM's have been great to, everyone has been so welcoming, I'm not sure if they are just being nice to butter me up to talk about acquiring Crosby or thats just how everyone is." Hickerson said with sarcasm in his voice. Hickerson also stated that, "as this big guy (Rob Lee) said Crosby isn't going anywhere."
Hickerson stayed in with the Rebels to watch their game verse the Manitoba Moose this evening, where the Rebels squeaked by with a two to one win. Hickerson was interviewed after the game, "We have a pretty good team here, we are definately in contention for the championship." Hickerson also sang praises about a couple of players, "I know there are a few players here that are sleeping with their phones just waiting for that call to go up with the big club. Chad (Larose) is super fast with an amazing shot, I wouldnt be surprised if he is a full time NsHLer next season and our Goalie Al (Montoya) he is pretty much standing on his head, after Avalanche's eight to two loss to the Hawks, I know that Rob is taking a look at him right now."
It is unknown how long Hickerson is going to travel with the Rebels for but he did say he plans on attending the Rebels next game which is tomorrow against the Philedelphia Phantoms.
