-- Quebec, QU
Facing a familiar organization, the Hartford Wolfpack, who are the AsHL affiliate of the NsHL New York Rangers, the Quebec Rock were able to defeat the Wolfpack in 6 games, despite being down 2-1 three games into the series.
This series win followed a remarkable comeback that saw the Quebec Rock rally back from a 3-0 series lead held by the Houston Aeros.
Their first round opponent was the Bridgeport Tigers, and the Quebec Rock were able to win that series in six games, 4-2.
"This is the first Championship I have ever advanced to. It's a fantastic feeling and I really believe this team has a good shot in the Calder Cup against either Regina or Iowa. Jeff Glass has been absolutely fantastic the entire year, and has let this time ride on his back since being demoted by Washington with about twenty games to play in the regular season" GM Cawker told the media.
"Jeff is a great young goalie. Most kids would have taken the demotion as a knock on their play, but Jeff understood the circumstances and the fact that we were looking for a veteran goalie for the playoffs as well as to push Pascal Leclaire. He has been consistent the entire season and I am hoping he has four to seven magical games left in him so he can add another trophy to his collection in addition to a World Junior trophy" GM Cawker told the media.
This is Goh Wok reporting on the Quebec Rock.
