The Atlanta Thrashers would like to announce that they have left winger Ryan Craig on the block. We'd like to move him to anyone who'll give him some playing time. We are looking for either a defenseman or draft pick in 2009 in return for this 27-year old.
On a personal note, it kills me to have to move him, because I've known Ryan for about 15 years. I trained him when I was a hockey instructor and I coached his younger brother about seven years ago.
Craig has a very affordable salary and can play third or fourth line duties. The only reason why I'm moving him is the emergence of Milan Lucic. We have way too much depth on the big club right now and a move has to be made.
