AP- The Kansas City Gears looked to be breezing their way to the second round of the AsHL playoffs last week as they jumped out to a 3 games to none lead on the Rochester Americans. But since then an OT loss and two regulation let-downs have left the Gears facing a game 7, on the road to determine who will move on in their quest for the Calder Cup.
"Its not like we've been outplayed." said Gears' Capt. Tom Koivisto "we've had a handle on every game, its just a matter of finishing."
But GM Gavin Gear had a different take. "I'm excited to see us in the playoffs in our inaugural season, for sure, but the play that these guys have displayed in the last two games has be lackluster, almost as if once up 3 games, Rochester would just hand it to us? We have to be sharper, we went through this in the regular season too... its unacceptable. If any of these players ever want to make the jump to the big club, to first thing they need to show management is heart and determination. We already know they've got the skill."

dude, was that the first ever comeback from a 3-0 deficit? Sorry, Gav, that's a tough way to go down.
