Toronto, ON (CP) - Toronto Maple Leaf and St. John Maple Leaf Owner and GM, Adriano Viterbo, held a press conference today where he put his regards toward the baby Leafs. To no surprise, Viterbo was asked to address the St. John GM situation and also the move circumstances.
"We may be hiring a new GM for the playoffs, whom I will work closely with during St. John's run," Viterbo said. "Right now, playoff time, were gearing up for a lengthy run and a helping hand never hurts."
Viterbo was asked about St. John's moving to Toronto and he stated that "Immediately following St. John's playoff run they will be moving to the Ricoh Coliseum and taking on their new names of the Toronto Marlies. The faster we get these guys in Toronto, the better it will be for both our clubs, as it will be more efficient in running the two teams. With them being so close, I can attend more games, meetings, and watch the players more closely, which will definitely help our teams next season.”
More on the GM predicament as it breaks.
