Worchester Times- The Worchester IceCats (AsHL affiliate to the St. Louis Blues) has gotten off to an up and down start in thier quest for this year's Calder Cup. The team started out on fire going 4-0 and only allowing 4 goals in their first 4 games. Since then however the IceCats have settled into a .500 pattern that has left the team bouncing in and out of playoff contention in the AsHL's Eastern Conference. One thing that has not ebbed and flowed however is the stellar play of Worchester's top RW Colin Hemingway. Hemingway is currently tied for the league lead in points (19 points in 18 games) and also leads the AsHL in assists. "It's time I stepped up and proved to the brass in St. Louis that I can help this organization on a NsHL level and that all starts here." stated Hemingway.
Outside the arena we caught up with a couple IceCat fans following their 2-2 tie with Cleveland where Hemingway was able to notch another assist and there was a mixed feeling of excitement and concern. "We love it as ICe Cats fans!" Said the over weight and obviously drunk devotee. "But you know the better a player like Colin keeps doing the more likely he is going to get called up or traded by the big club."
A rumor had circulated about 2 weeks ago that Hemingway's name was mentioned in a deal by the Blues' but no further deals or rumors have surfaced regarding this development. Until something happens though, the Worchester club and their fans are being treated to some stellar play that they hope will continue to play in the IceCats' White and Blue.
