Calgary, AB. The CALGARY CHRONICLE
Calgary GM, Andrew Drummond, has decided to hold the dual role as GM of both the Flames and their farm team, the Las Vegas Wranglers. When reached for a comment, Mr. Drummond had this to say, "I thought long and hard about the Wranglers management. And I decided that it was in the best interests if I oversee the farm team operations as GM. I will still be interviewing for someone to take over as the Wranglers GM at some point in the future, most likely for the following season. "It appears as though we have some talent on the farm. But it has been neglected to a certain point. When I took over the team and realized we had only one player drafted in the most recent draft I was appalled. How could anyone trade away so many picks? We do have much talent on the Flames and I can see what the previous management tried to do. To trade for these guys to get them over the hump and try and win the NsHL Champaionship. Unfortunately it did not work. So, do I try and complete that mission, or do I blow it up and start from scratch. I think we should try and complete the mission and bring the Cup to Calgary and their fans."
