The off-season is going to go down like this:
Cup Finals finish up.
-We send the sim and it's players forward a year.
(all players will age a year, all contracts will lose a year-players with expired contracts are STILL the property of their respected teams until the UFA deadline (circa August 1st). We are shooting to have our UFA period the 2nd week of August.
The BOD immediately begins re-rating all 1700 players by hand (we don't let the sim re-rate our players, it isn't realistic). This process takes time. However, early projections are that we should be done with re-rates no later than June 1st.
-All attendance endorsements, AsHL revenues, and bonuses will be awarded. Your cash pool will reflect these changes shortly after the end of the season.
-After re-rates are done, trade moratorium will be lifted (around June 1st).
-NHL re-rates may be submitted to the NsHL Commissioner's office anytime between June 1st and the start of the 06-07 season.
-Prime endorsements will be reviewed by the BOD and any market adjustments will be made immediately after the end of the season. Prime endorsement petitions for your franchises can be submitted to the BOD at anytime. Prime endorsements are awarded at the beginning of the NsHL season.
-Any teams wishing to move their AsHL franchises may do so in the off-season.
-After re-rates and barring roster space, GMs may activate prospects from their prospect pool. If you do not have the roster space, you must wait until after August 1st UFA deadline to accomplish this. However, I don't mind getting an early start on the creation of prospects and NHL re-rates.
-NsHL Entry Draft to occur July 22nd and 23rd in Bridgewater, Pa. We have several GMs coming in from out of town and welcome everyone to Pittsburgh, Pa. for the draft. Many fun events planned this year. If you are interested in coming down, please let the BOD know. We have several local GMs that have offered their homes to out of town guests.
As you can see, the off-season is busier than the actual season and is truly a fun time in the NsHL. With new re-rates, trade moratorium lifted, UFA signing period, Entry Draft, activating prospects, signing contracts (remember, you can negotiate with your agents in the off-season and is a great time to do so.)
If you have any questions about off-season activities, feel free to contact the commissioner@nsimhl.com .
Best of luck in the off-season. We look forward to an active summer!
