Almost half the team is from NJ and OTT Not only that, the point of the All-Star game is to have fun, and every team in each conference should be represented (much like the NHL's All-Star Game). It seems like the intent is more-so to win for the few selected teams rather then allow everyone to enjoy the All-Star weekend festivities. With sixteen teams in the Conference and twenty spots it is very possible to have each team represented, because I know like every other GM no matter where you are in the Standings you have a player worthy of playing in this game. My thought process of an All-Star game is to have at least one player from every team on the roster, which is 16 players, then you have four extra's spots to be choosen by the GM which will give you some teams having two players represent them. I see a lot of teams, including mine that are not represented.

Before we try to look at what the NHL does why dont we get it right. We are taking the players who are having the best season so far. And just a question. how many Penguins are on this years NHL All-star team. How is this not fair. Youare the guys who voted for these players.

Let us compare the two All Star Games: NHL- Ana, Buf, Car, Chi, Edm, and Pit. NsHL- Cgy, Chi, Dal, Mon, Nsh, NYR, Phx, and Pit. These are the teams NOT represented in the repective All Star games. Now Lemeiux was traded by Pit to Ott, Pit could have had an All Star and the West still needs two more players. (Ladislav Nagy). So if Mark picks two players from the teams not represented, that means six teams for the NHL and six teams for the NsHL are not represented. Now do you think Bettman said to the coaches to make sure everyone is represented. However if you look at the Young Star game roster in both leagues you will see that the teams not represented in the main All Star game are represented in the Young Star game. I have no represenative in the All Star game but am trying to get one in (Ladislav Nagy), however it really doesn't matter to me because what is more important to you, having a player represented in the All Star game or making the playoffs and winning the Cup?

Hey Jack,
I think you're thinking of baseball where every team must have a representative.
But either way the players involved have nothing to do with the GM of the team trying to win over having fun!
The players were chosen by all of us voting (except a few), I guess we voted for a lot of NJD and OTT players, that's just the way it goes.
I'm certainly more disturbed by the real NHL All-star game, where Mike (worst year of his career) Modano is a starter...he shouldn't even be on the team this year!!!
and the goalie situation is the west (real NHL) is horrific!

We tried to make this process as democratic as possible. The GM's voted, and this is their vote! The NHL ALL-STAR game is a game of stars and not every team is represented. This isn't the MLB and I like it that way. (I appreciate the input, though!)
Congrats to the BOD, the GM's that voted, and the ALL-STAR GM's for making the selection process a success. FULL, OFFICIAL ROSTERS WILL BE LISTED ON THE WEBSITE IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS.
