Jaguars < Patriots I'm taking the Jags by 4 points I know call me crazy but I do not want to see the Patriots heads get any bigger with another super bowl run. The Jags are a big physical team and will man handle the Patriots in the cold and snow at foxborough (my fingers are crossed)
So come on everyone there is still plenty of room on the Jags band wagon, and I'm driving.
My playoff prediction IND < SD JAC < NE GB < SEA (that hurts being a die hard Vikes fan) DAL < NYG
JAC < IND DAL < GB
JAC < DAL (This is where the wagon finally comes to rest... Go Jags)

Jags seem to be the team that has it going for them this season. Steelers style a few years ago.. But no Dallas, No Dallas.. Favre will end it going to a Super Bowl.. He wont win it but he will go.

After the Hawks were robbed of a Super Bowl win a few years ago, this is their year. And as unpopular as it may be, LETS GO HAWKS!

Alright I'll bite. I'm not going to pretend to be a football expert, but I will put the opinions out there.
Jacksonville @ New England
Jacksonville is a big, physical team with tremendous athletes all over the field. If they were playing a smash mouth offense I would be quite tempted to go with them. As it is, New England isn't a smash mouth offense. Don't get me wrong, they have a good enough O-line to do that, but they will throw the ball...A LOT. Weather won't deter them from chuckin' the rock, and unless Big Ben suits up for the P-men this weekend, I don't see the Jags winning the turnover battle again.
The Jags will, however, keep it close. Taylor and Jones-Drew will be called upon to grind it out, and they will see their share of success. Garrard usually does a good job managing the game, but had his moments in Pittsburgh. Despite Jacksonville being the "sexy" pick this year, nothing points to the Jags coming out on top in this game. At least not to me.
Roger's complete shot-in-the-dark score: Pats 24, Jags 20
San Diego @ Indianapolis
Forget about the meeting earlier this year. There's no chance the Colts are going to turn it over that many times in this matchup. It's an interesting game to predict as, in my mind anyway, these two teams are pretty evenly matched. Peyton Manning is the key, as always, to the game. The Colts running game will be slowed against the Chargers stout D, but Manning has all his toys back.
Rivers will need to be on point for the Bolts to win this game. He has weapons, but he can't turn the ball over against the Colts oppotunistic defense. LT will do what he does, but if Rivers is off it's going to be tough for San Diego to move on. Vincent Jackson has emerged as a threat, something I thought Chambers would be. I see lots of TDs in this one.
Roger's complete shot-in-the-dark score: Colts 38, Chargers 31
Seattle @ Green Bay
How many chances is Matt H gonna have to beat this team in the playoffs??? I'll keep this one short and sweet. If you haven't seen the Packers much this year, you will be impressed with the defense they have put together. Offensively the have a lot of youth, which is always a concern in the playoffs. Jones and Jennings are a lot further along than I thought they would be at this point. Ryan Grant doesn't surprise me though. He's a talented kid, and coupled with the much improved O-line of the Pack, he will produce.
Seattle's defense doesn't seem to get the credit they deserve. Their backers are VERY good and Kerney has been a great addition for them. In the end though, it won't be enough.
Roger's complete shot-in-the-dark score: Packers 20, Seahawks 13
New York @ Dallas
Eli's starting, no?
Roger's complete shot-in-the-dark score: Cowboys 34, Giants 10
And that's my not quite in-depth analysis. If you disagree, you're probably right.

Wild GM, I think you're in a drunken stoupor picking the Jags over the Pats. I'm so confident, I'm willing to bet an 08 7th round pick that the Pats beat the Jags!

Heh, I'm still a little ticked at the Steelers loss but this is how i think the NFL playoffs will shake down:
New England over Jacksonville Pittsburgh played terrible and were missing many key starters and were 4th and 2 away from beating the Jags. The Jags team that was hot down the stretch has to show up to give them a chance. I don't see it happening though, as when Pittsburgh used the spread offense with roll outs and short patterns during their first series, they tore jacksonville apart. Thats the offense New England is known for and they will continue to use it in the rain or snow.
Indianapolis over San Diego Manning won't have as bad as game as he did in their previous matchup, and if the Colts play 8 in the box and can stop LT, especially Bob Sanders they will win this game. I don't see Rivers as being able to lead this team to victory especially with the unkown status of Gates.
Green Bay over Seattle Lambeau Field in January. Also the run offense for Seattle has sputtered and with Green Bay's two lock down corners, if Seattle can't run the ball they ain't going nowhere.
Upset Special: NY Giants over Dallas This is a weird feeling I have. I was impressed by the way the Giants played the Pats and that seemed to continue onto the Bucs game after the first quarter. Its very hard to beat a team 3 times in the same season, and if Eli keeps it simple I think they have what it takes to win

Jacksonville at New England:
I have been predicting it since the playoffs began: The Jacksonville Jaguars may be the only team that has the speed and physical players on defense to get into Tom Brady's face. Hit Brady hard, hit him early, and then hit him once again for good measure, as it is the only chance a team has to win, they MUST pressure the QB. Pressure=turnovers=keeping your offense on the field and most importantly, keeping the Pats offense off of the field=a chance...yes, only a small chance to win the football game.
Official Prediction: New England 34 Jacksonville 16
Conditional Prediction: If the Jags can sack Brady 5 or more times: Jacksonville 24 New England 21 ****************************************************
Bolts versus Colts:
Manning and company are a bitch to play against on the fast track. Tomlinson could have a great day and upset the apple cart, though.
Official Prediction: Colts 38 Bolts 21
Conditional Prediction: Sack Manning 3 or more times-LT gets 150 yards of total offense: Bolts 27 Colts 23 **************************************************** Seattle vs. Greenbay
The frozen tundra of Lambeau favors Brett Favre and his collection of complete overachievers. Mike Holmgren and the Seabags revisit his old stomping grounds. This is where the fairy tale ends for Favre, much to the dismay of John Madden.
Official Prediction: Seattle 20 Green Bay 14
Conditional Prediction: Brett Favre throws for over 300 yards- Green Bay 31 Seattle 27 ****************************************************
The New York Giants will beat the Dallas Cowboys.
The "G" men are peaking at the right time and have everything going for them, passing the ball well, running the ball even better, while still playing good defense and special teams. Jessica Simpson is on hand to watch her "boytoy" Tony Romo fall flat on his face again in the playoffs.
Offical Prediction: New York football Giants 23 Dallas 17
Conditional Prediction: Jessica Simpson stays home to watch the game- Dallas 38 New York football Giants 14 ****************************************************

If you are a Cowboys fan, you should hope and pray that Favre goes to Dallas since he has NEVER won a game in Big D!

Mark, I counted 5 "Bermanisms" in there. Well done.

"Boom" is the best, without question. 7:30 on Sunday night was entertainment as he would go through all of the games at the speed of light. Chris and Tom Jackson were the best at recapping Sunday's game, hands down.
Remember these fine "Bermanisms":
Dwight "and the family" Stone
Bert "Be home" Blyleven
Steve "I got you babe" Bono
Michael Jackson "Heee heee"- chimed in by Tom Jackson
Eric "Sleeping with" Bienemy
Ricky Proehl "Shampoo"
Andre "Bad Moon" Rison
Eric "Light My" Ziere
Or him describing ANY big running back (i.e. Natrone "by any" Means or "You're in good hands with" Alstott) and the "boom" boom" he would say. Or...the "Rumblin' Bumblin' Stumblin' after a big defensive lineman would pick up a fumble and begin running with the ball. Priceless description.
He's one of those people we need to appreciate because there is no one like him, anywhere..... in any sport.

I can't stand boomer with his worn out sayings
He COULD! GO! ALL! THE! WAY! Just once I wish the twenty yard line would jump up and take the runner down
and how about
BACK BACK BACK BACK BACK GONE! Come on how old, it ruined the home run derby.
He is the best nick name guy. But the best saying in sports belongs to Keith Olbermann while doing baseball highlights on sportscenter he would say "Thats a six four three double play if your scoring at home, or even if your by yourself"..................... Classic
Lastly I think "BOOM" belongs to the great Madden? As in Boom tough acting tinaction
