With the emergence of Matt Carle, Johhny Oduya and the acquisition of Jaroslav Spacek, the Washington Capitals have no choice but to test the waters on Cory Sarich and Mathieu Biron.
Cory Sarich is a 29-year old defenseman who has tons of experience and leadership traits who leaves it all on the ice. He is a RFA but he can probably be signed relatively cheap and he would be a solid addition to any team as a third pairing defenseman with PK minutes.
Mathieu Biron, a young defenseman who plays an up-tempo style and is willing to help out in any way possible. He is also a decent puck mover and a player who is on the verge of becoming a solid defensive defenseman.
We are really open to anything - picks, prospects, any kind of youth or an upgrade on the pro roster.
