Hey boys. I will be putting together a little section on the site for the WJCs, and I will let you know when I post it. As for the games today, I didn't get to watch the Finland-Belarus game, which Belarus won 4-3. Sergei Kostsitsyn finished with a goal and an assist, while Mikhail Stefanovich netted a pair of goals (including the game winner) and a assist. Stefanovich just turned 17 in November, and is eligible for the 2008 draft. Another Belarussian worth keeping an eye on. Finland outshot Belarus 35-17, and with Tuukka Rask in net for the Fins I didn't expect this result. Here's the box: www.iihf.com/Hydra/Tournaments_07/output/w20/hydra.iihf.com/data/iihf/output/xml/96/IHM096B02_74_4_0.pdfAs for the other shock of the day, Germany upset the Americans 2-1 in OT. Plenty of scoring chances for the boys in blue, but they failed to finish all day. German goalie Sebastian Stefaniszin was stellar, as were his teammates in killing off 9 of the 10 US power plays (including a pair of 5-on-3's). Patrick Kane and Kyle Okposo were the best players on the ice, in my opinion. For the Germans, the top line of Gogulla-Schutz-Gawlik was pretty impressive as well. Here's the box: www.iihf.com/Hydra/Tournaments_07/output/w20/hydra.iihf.com/data/iihf/output/xml/96/IHM096A01_74_4_0.pdfAll in all, a pretty surprising day so far. Hopefully I'll be able to catch the Canada-Sweden game in a little bit. That's it for now. I hope you are all enjoying the holidays. I know I am.

The constantly underwhelming United States Germany does have some pretty interesting players. Schutz, Gogulla, Gawlik, Braun, Muller and Holzer to name a few. Stefaniszin was very good in net for the Germans. As usual with a young American squad, it looked like the boys forgot that hockey is a team game. Too many guys trying to do everything on their own. Congrats to Germany though. And how the hell did Stoa not score with a WIDE OPEN NET??? Ugh. That and Skille posting a breakaway. I love USA hockey, but d**nit they are frustrating.

We need to invade Canada,... I think it would take at the most about 3 shots in the air before they surrender.. then we could have a great team who will choak it at the end but at least we will have a good team.. But at the same time Bryan Adams and Celine Deon would become American Citizens... Screw that, nevermind that idea. (just messing: you know we love you Canadiens/Canadians) How can we suck so bad at hockey? ?? I just don't get it, I understand unlike Canada most our athletes don't go to Hockey as 1st choice and the fact that we have a thing called Summer, But Come on, we only have the best hockey league in the world... NHL needs to do like Soccer does and only allow a certain amount of foreigners per team, then teams would be forced to find American Hockey Players... (To Canada, "summer" is a time of year here in USA when it is not cold and it does not snow, goes from June till the end of August, I know that is hard for you to believe but just take my word for it, there is Daylight for more then 2 hours a day, I know its crazy). I think cause of my jokes if I ever set foot on Canadian soil I will be shot on the spot.. "Love the Jr. Hockey updates, Good work" Keep em coming.

actually Carlos you're better of getting shot in the USA. Here in Canada we don't use guns like our southern neighbors, we just beat you to a pulp!

Here Here Eggo!
First off, you did try to invade us with you're superior force way back when. Remember the old 54-40 or bust slogans you had? And we kicked your asses then, and tomorrow, when we hook up at the World Juniors, we'll kick your asses again. Sorry boys, but there can only be one #1 in the World......And like always, you have to look up to see us!
GO CANADA GO
*NOTE* These comments are made in jest, and not the true feelings of this proud Canadian, to his sorry assed hockey bretheren south of the 49th parallel.
And Los, right now dude, you have more snow than all of Canada combined right now. Ha, at least we can still make it to the arena with a foot or two on the ground.

Well, congrats to Canada (once again). Pretty well played game. The American boys gave a better effort than I expected, but came up short. I don't like shootouts deciding medal round games, but that was pretty exciting.
Good luck to Canada in the gold medal game. I'm betting it will be against Russia, which would be a pretty good game. Whether it is Russia or Sweden, I will be pulling for my neighbor to the north.

I didn't expect it to go that long, and I've got to say, I like being able to use a shooter more than once. ...on a completely unrelated note, I imagine that the trade offers for Mr. Toews are going to heat up now... ;D

One last thought on 54-40 or bust.... Please remember the you were helped by the Super Power England during that period... so dont take all the credit.... I am writing a letter to Dubya right now informing him that Canada has Weapons of Mass destruction... Just like Iraq does or maybe did or it was bad intellengence or maybe Sadam hid the WMD's in Canada.... So Canada fool me once shame on me fool me again shame on the point is you can't fool me again..... Taking offers on Twoes?

Hey America, thanks for coming out! It was a good try but alas, the better team won again.
Sorry guys, there's my gloating for the day! USA! USA! Bronze is okay for the USA!
I think it was Motley Crue that sang, "I'm on my way, just set me free. Gold Sweet Gold! Errr or something like that!
I'll take Toews......I need to make a trade anyways.
BTW USA, thanks for taking care of that prick Saddam. Sure he has a sore neck, but I'm sure that's the least of his concerns in the bowels of Hades right now.
P.S. The shoot out is in no way acceptable in my books to solve a great game like the one played today. I think we should tell Dubya that the International Ice Hockey Federation has WOMD's. That way you guys can invade, and we'll set up hockey the way it's supposed to be played. Fight to the finish.
