signing with defferent leagues such as Arturs Irbe. I know he's playing over seas in real life but last season, the BOD/Commish stated that NsHL players playing overseas could remain in the league, such as Irbe last season, Cechmanek and so forth....
how is this changing the game?

That is in reference to players that are playing on teams and are the property of NsHL organizations. We aren't just going to rip players off of teams and take them out of our game. Players in free agency have the right to go wherever they want. If they aren't in the NHL anymore, they are going to get taken out of our game eventually. Most that were taken out haven't been in the NHL for years, Gavin. Realism, Gavin!
If we didn't trim the herd, Gavin, I'd have 2800 players to go through each and every year and that's way too many. It's in the constitution. The NsHLPA has the discretion here.

Its merely a question Nate, not an accusation. Don't be so defensive.
OF course if you want to talk realism, lets be honest we take liberties with that all the time, whether it be the quirks of the sim, or financially [(salary cap? anyone?) not saying I want one]
I was simply wondering what the deal was since this hadn't happened before and since there was no notice saying "hey we're sending some players overseas, or assigning them to other teams."
I generally in life search for consistency and truth. The truth of the matter is this has been inconsistent. Irbe was no one's property last year when I signed him to a free agent contract.
This all isn't a criticism but when I see an inconsistency it makes me wonder so I ask a question...I don't see anything wrong with that.

Not defensive in the least, Gavin. I just have to explain it as matter of fact as if you were sitting here, bud. But, I'll beg to differ. It's not inconsistent. It's been in the constitution since its inception and a rule we really haven't used until now. However, it's been there all along. The NsHLPA has the discretion if the player is NOT playing in the NHL anymore to remove players from the league. Via retirement, playing overseas if their NHL counterpart is doing so. Our goal has always been to keep a loose affiliation with the NHL. If our game is filled with players not playing in the league anymore, it wouldn't look very realistic would it?
A player like Landon Wilson, who hasn't played in the NHL since 2003 shouldn't still be in our game if he isn't the property of an NsHL organization. Does anyone have a problem with that? I'm up for discussion.
