I had to say Kipprusoff too because he has single handedly helped the Flames be where they are folks. Raycroft is another excellent choice. And if "Jiggy" and the Ducks would have had a better year, then he would get a lot of your votes I'm sure.

Jack since your a goalie aren't your defense always supposed to stop the rushes from breaking down the ice to you. Goalies are kinda a last resort thing if a player deke's out your defense and your the last man standing and sometimes they score on you and sometimes you save the day. You can't win with a team that lets the other team shoot on the goalie to much, jiggy gets to much of that. Anaheim is terrible with covering the open man. If Anaheim wants another stanley cup finals year there going to have to get more positioned and get stronger defense and better forwards the Fedorov and Sykora. So in a way it's not Jiggys falt.

I don't think the defense is ever expected to stop all the rushes, because obviously it's not possible, but when they do get threw you're expected to make the save unless you can't do anything about it. When a team is not playing well, a goalie can always help turn things around, but Jiggy didn't help at all. He like the team has had a bad year. By now you'd expect him to turn it around if he hasn't maybe he isn't as good as we think he may be or maybe he is but has had an off year like Belfour with his last year with the Stars.

Your both right. Ana (real life of course) has not played well, at all but really neither has Jiggy, he was very sub-par for most of the season.... Does he still get NHL based re-rates? That would suck for Mark

The two NHL rerates that we get every season are elective so unless I stupidly elect to have Giguere NHL re-rated his rerate will be based on NsHL experience only. ;D He's not having a bad year in the NsHL at all.

You would have to be at a crowd like toronto's to get your name said if you were a goalie. Every great save Belfour does the crowd will chant Eddie! Eddie! Eddie!

Yeah, and the good old days in Pittsburgh when it sounded like everyone was booing the goalie for making a save. Penguin fans used to scream "Moose!" when Hedberg used to make any save. Now they just cheer when a Pittsburgh goalie makes a save. YEAH!!!!!

Mark if Pittsburgh was a team like they are now but back in th 90's you would here a lot of booing because Pittsburgh gets 40-50 shots a game and only 4 or 5 of those go in.So lots of saves lots of booing. Yeah, and the good old days in Pittsburgh when it sounded like everyone was booing the goalie for making a save. Penguin fans used to scream "Moose!" when Hedberg used to make any save. Now they just cheer when a Pittsburgh goalie makes a save. YEAH!!!!!

Penguins will be a good team with Fleury, Caron , Malone and Jackman plus the first round drafts picks they will be getting this year and next Ovechkin and Crosby if they finished last two years in a row. With some defense i think Pittsburgh would be an average team like Buffalo.
