Hey guys.
I know you like to keep this as realistic to the NHL as possible. So I have a few ideas which I think are pretty cool.
-CBA Negotiations. Instead of possibly adopting new rules from the new NHL CBA. How about in an open chat, the owners/general managers from the NsHL teams and the BOD members (BOD = PA) try to hammer out a CBA deal for the NsHL. I know the NsHL does not have an official CBA, but we do have free agency and such and we could have negotiations for a possible salary cap, luxury tax and such. We could have a deadline to reach a deal and everything. It might be fun.. Let me know what you think of this. (We could probably be the first FHL League to ever have this)
-Deadline Day Chatroom. I'm sure you guys have thought of this already and not have made it official, but perhaps on the Deadline Day we can have a chatroom possibly a mIRC where the GM's can go and chat and make deals right up to the deadline with the Commissioner announcing deals as they happen. If the commissoner has the time, this could work great.
Thanks and I appreciate the feedback.

I think the mIRC is a great idea for many league functions. I think that a league wide ICQ day to all who want to participate is a good thing, too.
Personally, from experience on the day of the trade deadline....leagues typically have 75-90% of its GMs on ICQ. That makes for instant communication and excitment while keeping your "CARDS CLOSE TO YOUR CHEST". In other words, you aren't in a public forum showing people your total intentions.(I know you can PM people...it just isn't quite the same) If it were up to me, I'd want to talk to GM's on the phone or in person like any other pro league. That just isn't realistic, although, in time....GM's may feel more comfortable with everyone and telephone conversation may be a viable communication medium for some.
We WILL be utilizing mIRC for the Entry Draft and may implement it for UFA's.....not really sure, about that, though.
Secondly, a CBA entails so many things. We do have our own CBA agreement in regards to several financial areas including group I and II FA's as well as league minimums for rookies and veterans. We do not currently implement luxury taxes and salary caps into the financial realm. Is it time for either of those things? I'll listen to arguments.
It is our first year of existence and I think we should hold up until after ALL the finances are tallied up (endorsments, playoffs, etc.) With two sets of endorsments and playoff revenue remaining (PURE PROFIT, no LABOR COSTS DURING THE PLAYOFFS), it could change people's minds on our financial situation as a whole. There is still a lot of money to be handed out.
Anyways, just putting this stuff out there. Feel free to comment. Thanks for your suggestions, Jack. They are well thought out and should be taken into consideration.

I agree with Mark, Jack. Good ideas.
Keep coming up with more ideas, and spend more time on your NsHL team and less time talking to girls than you already do.
Thumbs up!

I like the idea..
I also think we should set a day next weekend, or two weekends from now for GMs to go onto mIRC in attempt to crack some deadline deals and make the NsHL dealing a great one!
What do you guys think?
