USA beats the Canadian team for the Gold Medal today. Who says the USA has an inferior youth hockey program? Unfortunatley, it was on at noon so I was in school and couldn't watch the game which really pissed me off. Anyway, we got the win. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! ;D

Yes, congrats to Team USA. Got some nice bounces in the third and came back to win. This was a good group of Americans and the best team you have had to date. You youth program is top notch, like ours up here in Canada. USA as host country next year, will not repeat as champions. The next couple of years will be tough as your 16 and 17 year olds are good but no match to the Canadians, Russians or Fins. A bronze is a great possibility as I believe as many as eight players could return to the team next year including your goalie, but next year will be the showcase of Sidney Crosby, and as a 17 year old will be the number one player in the tournament and the world junior will finally see a dominate performance not seen since Forsberg, Naslund, Bure, Lindros and Gretzky were in the tournament.
2005 Predictions: Gold - Canada Silver - Finland Bronze - USA 4th - Russia
Again, congrats to USA for winning their first Championship and a well deserved gold medal. We expect to see more great matches against you in the future and can't wait to see you in the World Cup in September.
P.S. Hopefully, we will not see a movie made out of this tournament as that is the big joke at the moment. Ala, 1980 Olympics.

I think a movie about "The Miracle" should be something worth watching, actually. Although, most of America will disgard it simply because it is a movie about ice hockey.
I wonder what is so funny about a movie written to tell the story about the 1980 improbable victory over the Russians?

I agree with Mark. It's a great story of how the underdog overcomes adversity.
who doesn't like that?
that's why we all loved the Minnesota Wild last year. Because they were the underdog no one expected to win.

It is the running joke up here. Don't know why, but it is.

The movie looks good, and it comes out in exactly one month and I know that I'll be in the theatre watching it with a few friends of mine. I think this movie has the chance to become popular it seems like it may be a Remember The Titans type movie.
