Now, lets not take away anything from Milwaukee who put up a fantastic performance. Milwaukee outscored Ontario 24-21 over the coarse of the seven game series even putting up 6 Goals twice in the Toyota Arena. Ontario was forced to juggle lines and goalies throughout the whole series just to keep up and force a game 7. "We sat down before game 7 and looked at different players and how they were performing," said GM Raines. "We wanted to make sure we had either the hot hand in goal, or the correct players in each position down to every single player."
Ontario's second line really took the reigns (No Pun Intended) and took care of business throughout the series. They shined the most and were the most consistent. The trio of Pelletier - Staal- Pajuniemi combined for 8 goals, all even strength, and combined for 56 shots as well.
Special Teams will have to step up their game if they want to win another round and continue on this run. Going 1/17 on the PP and 13/17 on the PK won't win you many series. We got lucky that we found goaltending and our 2nd line stepping up in Game 7 to secure us another 4 games at least.
Stockton took care of the Seatac Aviators in 5 games in what would be considered an upset. Stockton is a great team, but Seatac's goaltending and defensive units were top notch all season long. They could beat you in a 1-0 or 2-1 game and made it look easy. Any team that can topple them will certainly be a force to be reckoned with. "We look forward to a fun filled series with Stockton and hope we can continue our run."
