Entwistle is suddenly back on a shortlist of players that will look to secure everyday roles with the Capitals in Season 22. - Darcy Kuemper will suit up for the Capitals in their final game of the season after getting a few nights off for maintenance. Kuemper has been dominant with the Caps this season, and will look to finish the regular season with a strong performance. - Scott Wedgewood was reassigned to Baltimore on Monday to make room for the return of Darcy Kuemper. Wedgewood appeared in 3 games with the Caps this season, earning 2 wins, despite below-average showings. With the emergence of Karel Vejmelka (11-5-2) as a viable backup goaltender, Wedgewood has been relegated to third string status.

Playoff Update, By: B.J. Betty, Junior Hockey Correspondent
Washington, DC - There was no sense of panic for the Washington Capitals on Sunday, the day after their 2-1 Game 1 loss to the Hurricanes, as the team took to the ice for practice. It was business as usual for the Capitals, as they went through their off-day routine in much the same way that they did throughout their league leading regular season. “You would like to come away from a game like that with a win, especially when you get a solid effort like we had from (Kuemper) tonight,” said captain Mitch Marner. “It’s a short series, so we are turning our focus onto the next game and making sure that we come prepared to deliver a win for the home crowd here in DC.” For his part, goaltender Darcy Kuemper said that he felt pretty good about his team’s overall effort in Game 1. “They played a good game, so you have to give that to them,” Kuemper said following the loss. “We had our share of looks and chances, and with a few bounces here or there, I think the result could have been different, so we can build from that.” Game 2 will take place Monday night in Washington at the Verizon Center (Capital One Arena).

Playoff Update, By: B.J. Betty, Junior Hockey CorrespondentToronto, Ontario - The Washington Capitals will have the opportunity to square up their best of seven series with the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday night at the ACC. The Caps find themselves trailing the series 2-1 after three games, but they believe that momentum is firmly on their side.“We feel good about the way that we’ve been playing throughout this series, and we also believe that the series could just as easily be 2-1 in our favour,” said veteran forward Logan Couture Friday morning following a brief on-ice team practice. “At the end of the day, they’re up right now, hopefully we have some momentum heading into the next game, and our plan is to head back to Washington for a best of three series.”The Caps demonstrated their ability to overcome adversity in game 3, as they found themselves trailing 2-0 after the first period. They would go on to score three unanswered goals (Skinner, Benn & Keller) and win the game 3-2.“I’m really proud of the way the boys played last game,” said Mitch Marner during a limited media availability following practice. “It can be hard to play from behind against a team like Toronto, and there isn’t a lot of room out there, but we found a way to breakthrough their trap there and win the game – we’ll try to keep the ice tilted in our favour next game, too.”The Capitals experimented with some new line combinations at practices on Thursday and Friday, which they are expected to bring into game 4. Red hot Logan Couture will move up as the 2C, while Nick Schmaltz will serve as 3C. David Kampf is back to his regular spot as the line 3 RW. Connor McMichael will serve as the 4C between Brendan Gallagher and Luke Glendening. This junior journalist won’t go as far as to say that this is a must win game for the Capitals - but the clock is inching dangerously close to midnight if they can’t find a way to win.Catch all of the action and highlights for tonight's pivotal game at the link below:GAME 4: Washington Capitals vs Toronto Maple Leafs
