Los Angeles, Ca.-
The rumor circulating Staples Arena is that the Los Angeles Kings are looking to re-sign Joe Pavelski, a long time King, to a multi year deal. "He has been our esteemed captain and a catalyst for our championship runs here in LA." said an unnamed team source. "I'm not shocked that we are in talks."
It is also said that the Kings are looking for a back up goaltender to support John Gibson and an offensive defensemen to add to the blueline. With the losses of Sami Vatanen (to Europe) and Keith Yandle (to retirement), the Kings are a bit thin on the blueline even after trading for Connor Murphy in the offseason. Incidentally, Vatanen and Yandle were both drafted by the Kings and spent their whole careers in a Kings uniform. That's standard issue for this town.
Who they sign remains to be seen, but it looks like they plan on making a splash, and a run for the Stanley Cup again this year!
This is IP Freely for LA Kings hockey.
