Kent, WA - One hundred points. Not bad for a first year franchise. The Seatac Aviators capped off their season with a win over the Laval Rocket on home ice. The club is set to take on the Adirondack Angels in the first round. Seatac finished strong with seven straight wins to close out the year, and hope to carry that momentum into the playoffs.
"We are stoked to be here," gushed veteran Rocco Grimaldi. "We've been on a roll, and really pushed hard at the end of the season."
Isac Lundestrom echoed the sentiments, "It has been a lot of hard work, but we really wanted to start at home. The guys have come together lately and we just have to keep going."
Seatac has benefitted from adding young players like Jacob Peterson and Lundestrom this year. They played through some adversity down the stretch with the surprise trade of Kyle Clifford, and a few injuries in Seattle that resulted in Alex Barre-Boulet and Daniil Miromanov heading to the big club for a stretch. But the young team came together when it counted and will be making preparations to face the Oilers' farm club in the opening round.
