It wasn’t expected that the Carolina Panthers were going to be busy at the Trade Deadline and that turned out to be the case.
They had some opportunities to acquire players, but according to insiders it made no sense to pay the going rate as a playoff bubble team.
“We like our team chemistry and we’re hesitant to make a change just for change sake. Just because a player is better on paper, doesn’t mean he’s going to be better on the ice, stated Carolina GM Ron Jones.
The team was looking at upgrading on the fourth line wing and possibly at the third line center spot. The team has chosen to act as the UFA’s they kept instead of trading away are the same as if they had acquired those players in a trade.
The Canes aren’t going to be favoured in any playoff matchup they might be involved with. However, they have the makings of a tough out for any opponent.

I disagree Ron, you have a good shot (Hurricanes)if you make the effort. I won’t give you my reasons why, because then I’d be revealing strategy.
