Raleigh, NC – The Carolina Panthers are through to the third round after defeating the Binghamton Senators in a hard fought, low scoring six game affair.
“I think the turning point for us is when put Anton (Forsberg) in for a game. Kahkonen was looking a bit gassed and Forsberg came in and crushed it. The team has complete confidence in either goalie, which is a luxury few other teams can claim,” stated GM Ron Jones.
The other stars of this playoff run might just be Conor Timmins and Matthew Peca. Conor has seven helpers and is a plus 13, which has him tied with his defensive partner Olli Juolevi for most on the team and in the AsHL. In fact, no other player in the league has a better +/- better than +7.
While Matthew Peca leads the Panthers with 13 points (5-8-13).
The team will be taking on the red hot Pensacola Ice Flyers (Tampa Bay Lightning affiliate). The Ice Flyers dispatched the Long Island Ducks easily in a sweep.
