I’ve seen a lot worse as far as hits go fo r this. It was a big hit no doubt but I don’t think it’s that bad. Sucks that Evans got hurt but if he’d got up and skated away from that hit, I don’t think they’d even would be a discussion of suspension.

Although I agree the hit itself wasn't placed dangerously or to the head like some others, there's no doubt in my mind that it was predatory. He would have had a better chance stopping the goal with a stick play so he can't argue that he was playing defence.

This is a textbook intent to injure hit.

When the Giraffe Chara hit Pacioretty in the stanchions ... I thought I just saw a murder on ice. Patchy was pale and not moving... This hit was a charge from his own circle to where he hit Evans. I get he was trying to prevent a goal... but look close at Mark... he didn't even look at the puck... he was looking at Evans and destroyed him... I have seen tons of ugly hits... Stevens on a few guys... Patchy hit.. the Predator Nazim Kadri hits.... this one was pretty bad... and will answer next year... bust his nose I say... no need for low life's in Hockey ... for him to whine about it shows he's a coward.

Couldn't agree more. I watched this hit several times and there's no doubt in my mind what his intentions were.
