Hello fans!
Although there have been struggles with the big club in the NsHL, the trickle down effect of the fire sale in New York has been nothing but good news for the farm squad who is silently becoming a serious bubble team. With the help of new years additions Nicolas Hague and Ville Saarijarvi, the team has become a defensive powerhouse and currently sits one measly point out of a playoff spot in the Eastern conference. Although first year pro Anthony Angello is driving the team offensively with his 31 points (10g 21a), the rest of the squad is chipping in as well with only 4 players recording less than 10 points on the season so far (min 10 games). Saarijarvi, who has played only 8 games with Hartford, already has a goal and an assist for the club. Hartford's strength defensively is highlighted by the fact that, despite what was expected early on in the season, the team has continued to play 8 different defenseman consistently. The team also boasts one of the leagues best goaltending tandems since acquiring Jeremy Smith.
Hartford certainly has a much stronger squad than in recent years and is shaping up to be the only hope of success for New York fans this season.
