Toronto, ON - The Toronto Maple Leafs have completed deal with the Chicago Blackhawks to acquire Daniel Audette for cash considerations. The Marlies are coing off a very strong season but expect at least one center to graduate to the Maple Leafs, and watched Nick Shore leave to test free agency. Audette scored 35 points last season (14 goals, 21 assists) and was a +5 with 12 penalty minutes for the Rockford Ice Hogs last season.
"We are really happy to see Audy joining our club," said Marlies head coach Dave Hakstol. "He is a good young veteran who skates well and competes hard. He's a good addition to our forwards, and should be able to push for a chance with the Leafs. We like players who are hungry to move up."
The Marlies expect to have 14 forwards on their roster unless the club makes another move to add, or if the Leafs decide to carry an extra player.
