Capitals First to Reach NsHL's Century Club; Who Will Be Next? Washington, DC -- The Capitals became the first franchise in the NsHL to reach the Season 21 Century Club (100+ points in the team standings) on Thursday night by defeating the Winnipeg Jets 4-3 in overtime. While the Caps came out on top just 14 seconds into overtime on a streaking goal by Alexander Wennberg, this win was anything but easy. Winnipeg appeared to have had the game all wrapped up with the Caps trailing 3-2 in the third period and just two minutes remaining. That’s when David Kampf, one of the more recently acquired Capitals, stepped up as an unlikely hero and tied the game 3-3 with a short-handed tally. “That one felt good, there’s no doubt about it,” Kampf said after the game while struggling to hold back his smile. “The move (to Washington) has been great for me, this is an outstanding locker room that they have here, and I already feel at home– so, its nice to be able to contribute to our drive here.” David Quinn, who has been nothing short of exceptional in his first year behind the bench for the Capitals, said that the win is symbolic of his team’s season overall. “The game isn’t over until the final horn sounds, and we know that,” Quinn said after his team’s gutsy performance. “So, we come prepared to play a full game every single night, and its led to good results.” With the NsHL playoffs just around the corner, who will become the next team to join the Century Club? Right now, the leading candidates appear to be the Buffalo Sabres (95), Toronto Maple Leafs (94), Philadelphia Flyers (93) and Anaheim Ducks (91). Who do you think will be the next? Vote in our poll! Stay tuned for more, hockey fans. Richard Thingyi, Senior Hockey Insider

So I guess we call it a draw? HAHA Unless of course the Toronto game ended before ours. Incredible race in the East right now!! If only one of your games had started in a different time zone, then it would be a much easier calculation. Still, I'm going to have to give this one to the Maple Leafs. There were 6 total goals in the TOR/TBL game vs 10 total goals in the BUF/CAR game. I think based on those goal stoppages, the Leafs game ended first.
