The Washington Capitals have agreed to terms on a 2-year contract extension with budding star forward Clayton Keller.
Caps GM Willis was in London, Ontario for the team’s annual fundraising event for the local Children’s hospital when news of the deal broke.
“It’s an incredibly exciting day to have clarity on Clayton’s short-term future in Washington,” Willis said of the noteworthy signing. “We really like what we have with (Keller) who we value as an elite level talent with the ability to achieve All-Star designation in our league,” he said.
Many analysts and fantasy experts are calling for the breakout of Keller in Season 21, after he failed to realize expectations last year due to some injuries and off-ice factors.
“Moving forward, we will look to establish some chemistry between Keller and Marner, which is a duo that could really cause some headaches for our opponents for many years.”
How many points do you think Keller will score playing 82 games on a line with Mitch Marner?
