Laine to Columbus. "Exhausting isn't the word for it," said GM Drummond. "I don't have the words. But more exhausting than the McDavid talks."
"Congrats to GM Stack."
"Patrik was loved here in Calgary, we will miss him immensely. But a new chapter will begin in Calgary."
Stay tuned for the details of the trade.

The Calgary Flames have closed the chapter on the McDavid/Laine era with back to back trade deadline deals.
"We're going to miss Patrik, but the rebuild is in full swing and unfortunately Patrik will be a big part of that rebuild, without being a Flame."
Coming in are 9 players that includes a 1st in next year's draft and a 2nd in this year's draft. The major acquisitions on the player side are Oliver Bjorkstrand and Kasperi Kapanen.
"Olie will step right in and take Patrick's role on the 1st line and Kappy will slot in on the 2nd line. There will be some other adjustments, but we like our team going forward and the players who will be here in the near future," said GM Drummond.
Here's the complete deal
CLB: Patrik Laine
To CGY: 2024 CLB 1st / 2023 CLB 2nd / Oliver Bjorkstrand / Kasperi Kapanen / Topi Niemela / Jacob Perreault / Evan Vierling / Henrik Tikkanen / Oskar Back
All 5 prospects we are high on. Topi, Jacob and Evan who we believe we will eventually see on the Flames roster.
Tikkanen is an intriguing prospect with lots of potential. Back is a long term project, but the reward will be worth the wait. Some say he compares to Riley Nash with more speed.
