I voted assuming you meant in the NsHL East, not the NHL...right?

Who cares about the East. We all want to know who's the best team in the NsHL. For that we have to go to the Western Conference. ;D ;D

Jeff, I was going to vote for Boston but had second thoughts after the ass beating they have given the Pens in the NHL. then started to think about all the Redsox players and management leaving bean town and I knew nothing good came out of boston but clam chowder. ;D

You guys can play all you want for tops in the Division......While I'll be laughing at the draft table, when I announce Phil Kessel at year's end. I'm playing for the 1st overall pick boys! Woo Hoo! lol
The question is, is this a sad outlook, or is this a look towards a positive future in Atlanta?

Woo Hoo! lol The question is, is this a sad outlook, or is this a look towards a positive future in Atlanta? I say sad. Despite of what your roster looks like you should play to win. I've been in sim leagues where people would take advantage and sit there best players so they would gain a better draft position if they were def. not going to make the playoffs by a certain point in the season.

I say sad as well, not just because of the fact I always play to win, but also just as a reference as to what has happened to this Minnesota Wild team.
The previous GM obviously tanked the team in a blatant attempt to get Sidney Crosby. As we now see, the team missed that due to the lottery draft (which, while I would have loved to have had Crosby, personally I'm thankful a purposeful tank job didn't work) and this team will take a lot of lumps and also-ran seasons just to get back to being where the Wild were when the NsHL started.
All for a shot at Sid the Kid.
Is Kessel worth that?
I know Jack Johnson isn't. And Kessel is alot closer to Johnson than Crosby.

Atlanta has made the playoffs each of the past two seasons and they should be able to make a run again. No way should that team be in rebuild mode. I know they are lacking prospects but that team has plenty of talent to win some games this year. I hope you don't dismantle them this season.

YEs, Shocking to hear that kind of talk from a new GM, even in Columbus last year, where it was very obvious that they vying for the first overall pick, there was no quit. In Atl, esp before making any monumental trades, you have a very good solid team, maybe not the best of the best, like here in St. Louis ( ) but very competitive.

Glad to hear some comments. I'll guarantee to all of you, we will NOT tank the season away. Yes, we're rebuilding, yes, we're lacking some offensive talent to support Kovalchuk, but we're working on it. Besides, not to sound like I'm backtracking, but I'm not even a Phil Kessel fan. lol. I just wanted to see the reaction. Sure we'd like to have the #1 pick next year, as would any of you, but we're also looking at being as competitive as possible for this coming season. Philly, you don't have to worry, because we'll be ready to play you. And no, we're not going to fold and sit our top stars. Our best players are our best for a reason, and we pay them the money to play. So they'll play. This, my friends, will NOT be a tank job!

The only way you are going to get first overall pick is if Spencer trades it to you after earning it. Snap!
